Sony brings PlayStation Now to PC, launches DualShock 4 adapter

Aug 25, 2016, 02:01

Although Sony has yet to announce when the PlayStation 4 Slim will be released, to the public, the company does anticipate releasing it in September.

Sony has said the adaptor will "let you connect a DualShock 4 to PC and Mac wirelessly, and will enable every feature of the controller you know and love: buttons, analogue sticks, touch pad, light bar, motion sensors, vibration, and stereo headset jack - as long as the gaming application supports these features".

But with PlayStation VR and PS4 Neo both on the horizon, it stands to reason that the gamers makers could be looking to upgrade its existing DualShock 4.

In an announcement late on Tuesday night, Japanese electronics giant Sony brought good news for PC gamers on two accounts.

Microsoft has also announced that a very powerful console is in the works that is now called Project Scorpio.

There is also no word as yet on what, if any, spec changes the Slim might have compared to the full size console of the Neo. The new system does not have a release date, yet. At the same time, Sony's original version's price will probably drop to make room for the slimmer PS4 console.

But based on testimonies, the PS4 Slim is one and real and has now gained steam of possibly appearing this September 7 in NY. It allows the PS4 controller to work with the PC's XInput controller driver.

The service costs £12.99 a month ($20.00 a month in the US) and is now available on PS4, PS3, PS Vita, Sony Bravia TVs and Samsung Smart TVs.

The FCC only certifies the hardware's radio equipment, so any details about new features will be hard to come by in this particular leak, but many PS4 fans will be hoping that the new hardware fixes the controllers battery life, which has always been a little too quick to run out of juice.
