Injured Texas A&M QB Knight doesn't start 2nd half

The CFB Playoff committee went out on a limb, selecting Texas A&M as the No. 4 team ahead of undefeated Washington.

After falling behind 14-0 in the first quarter, Trevor Knight ran the ball for a 19-yard touchdown to narrow the lead and left the game with what appears to be a shoulder injury. The Bulldogs finished with 365 rushing yards with Fitzgerald and sophomore running back Aeris Williams (140 yards, one touchdown) each having big days. Fitzgerald punctuated the drive by bulling his way into the end zone on a 4-yard keeper to make it 35-21 with 3:08 remaining. Senior receiver Fred Ross caught six passes for 98 yards and two touchdowns for the Bulldogs (4-5, 2-3 SEC), who outgained the Aggies 574-382.

If I were a betting man, I'd take Texas A&M at -13. This is obviously Knight's throwing arm.

Update 2: Knight is now in street clothes, wearing a sling. Kirk can now add a third punt return TD to his resume with that play.

However, he had to exit the contest for a second time late in the first half after he was tackled out of bounds following a run.

That play was one of the few downers for Mississippi State, which had a 372-146 edge in total yards over the first 30 minutes. Quarterback Nick Fitzgerald carried the load for Mississippi State, going 18/31 passing for 209 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions while rushing for 184 yards and two more touchdowns on 19 carries. Knight hurt his shoulder on that play and was never able to return to the game. He was 5-of-14 for 43 yards and also ran for 54 yards and a touchdown before he left the game.
