WWE RAW: Samoa Joe makes huge statement

There will be more buildup to the main event of Extreme Rules, a fatal five-way match with Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Samoa Joe vs. Finn Balor vs. Seth Rollins with the victor getting an Universal title shot against Brock Lesnar. The Universal champion has five potential contenders that are all in the mix for a title shot, so general manager Kurt Angle made a decision to find out as quickly and efficiently as possible by having them face off in a Fatal 5-Way to headline Raw's next pay-per-view show.

The best Raw GM: There's something hilarious about Kurt Angle outright saying he's the best Raw GM because he's been booking all the members of a Fatal 5-Way match at the upcoming pay-per-view in various matches against each other based on their interactions on the show he runs.

For those who missed last week's show, some Raw results spoilers may follow. The main one is a fatal five-way match to determine the number one contender for the Universal Championship.

The way this episode of Monday Night Raw played out seemed to make clear that Finn Balor is out in front as the guy who will be challenging Brock Lesnar for the Universal championship at Great Balls of Fire, Seth Rollins and Samoa Joe will continue their issue, and Roman Reigns will break off to reignite an old feud with Bray Wyatt.

Late in the match, Joe dodged a Superman Punch and Reigns blasted teammate Rollins with it instead. This is a Kendo Stick on a Pole match, which means that a kendo stick will be suspended by a pole on one of the turnbuckles.

She beat James by hitting a DDT and then attacked her with a kendo stick before Bayley intervened. Hmmm. okay. I guess this is just to prove Bayley can be vicious enough to win when they get to the match itself? However, following last week's title defense, Ambrose now finds himself in a position where he will need to show a little restraint after Kurt Angle made the stipulation that if Ambrose gets's disqualified against The Miz at Extreme Rules he will lose the title. This was for the right to pick the stipulation for the Raw Tag Team Championship match at Extreme Rules.

With these matches now in place, it sets the stage for an interesting lead-up to the upcoming WWE event. This comes after The Miz and Dean Ambrose had a match that ended in disqualification, which frustrated The Miz and caused him to challenge Ambrose to this match. He said he was the only one who could protect the fans.

Now the question remains as to whether Bayley will have what it takes to prove the Women's Champion wrong and show the fans a side of her that we are yet to see. Goldust gave Truth a beatdown and then told him "Now that's what's up" to add insult to injury. This week, RAW will take place in Grand Rapids. The kickoff show will start an hour earlier at 7 p.m. ET and all action can be watched live nationally on WWE Network. In addition, cable and satellite subscribers may have live streaming online feeds available to them through the U.S. website or any compatible apps for mobile and streaming devices. SmackDown and NXT really raised the bar, so there's some work to be done on Monday nights. It is also being broadcast on the USA Network.

What are you most looking forward to tonight on Monday Night Raw? At the end, Roman and Seth were seen standing in the ring victorious.
