Iranian president calls US relations 'a curvy road'

Iran's newly re-elected President Hassan Rouhani said Monday that Iran's relationship with the U.S.is a "curvy road", and called President Donald Trump's summit in Saudi Arabia this past weekend "just a show".

"We can no longer allow the nuclear agreement with Iran to dictate USA policy throughout the Middle East, and this bill is an important first step in finally holding Iran accountable for their non-nuclear destabilizing activities", Corker said in a news release. Rouhani's response came in his press conference on Monday, after winning re-election with a firm 57% of the vote.

In related news, The Washington Post quoted Rouhani as saying that Iranians are "waiting for this government to become stable intellectually" and that "hopefully, things will settle down... so we could pass more accurate judgments".

France has said it backs Trump's call to strengthen the monitoring of the deal, but that it is committed to implementing it, including the lifting of sanctions. "Who can claim that stability of the region can be restored without Iran?" he said.

Rouhani said that people in Saudi Arabia are there friends and they have always loved them and hoped the Saudi government to choose the right path.

He said people in the USA would not be willing "to exchange what they lost in the 9/11 terrorist attacks for certain sums and then forgive those acts".

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates expressed exasperation this week after official Qatar media published remarks purported to have been made by Sheikh Tamim which were critical of Mr Trump's foreign policy and of renewed tensions with Tehran. 'The central power of a nation is its national determination and this will manifest itself in its presence in the country's elections and in casting its votes at the polls, ' told the Persian ruler to more than 300 Iranian and foreign journalists accredited in this capital.

In Rouhani's second term, Tehran is more likely to ratchet up its interventions in Arab nations as the IRGC and Quds Force will be empowered and emboldened, and Iran will continue to be the top state-sponsor of terrorism. Although Rouhani's main challenger in this election, hardline cleric Ebrahim Raisi, does not formally reject the deal, his whole campaign is focused on the fact that the end of foreign economic sanctions did not bring Iranians the rapid economic relief that Rouhani had promised. "It is not possible to fight terrorism with precisely these kinds of shows".

"Our missiles are for our defence and for peace, they are not offensive". Many however, interpret both of the aforementioned initiatives, at least in part, as being both out of a shared concern between Israel, the Gulf States and the USA of a rising Iran. "We will not wait for them and their permission".
