Trump sons defend his criticism of London mayor

"We keep appeasing it", said Trump Jr. "And guess what, he's been proven right about it, every time". We're going to hold fast and we're going to keep calm and carry on.' Maybe we have to keep calm and actually do something.

"I think Sadiq Khan is doing a good job and it is wrong to say anything else", she said.

Saturday's terrorist attack in London - the third in as many months - was a somber occasion for the world.

"I think Donald Trump is wrong in what he said about Sadiq Khan in the aftermath of the London Bridge attack", May said at a press conference on the campaign trail ahead of Thursday's election.

Trump's tweet renewed his mischaracterization of Khan's statement to London residents following the attack that left seven people dead and dozens injured. The three suspects were shot dead by police officers within minutes after they drove a van into pedestrians on the bridge and then stormed pubs and restaurants, stabbing anyone in their path.

While Mr Trump branded Khan's appeal for calm a "pathetic excuse" on social media, America's top diplomat to the Court of St James's - Chargé d'affaires ad interim and former Deputy Chief of Mission Lewis Lukens - praised the mayor's leadership. "I think that's an important message".

After the attack, Khan told Londoners not to be alarmed at the increased police presence in the city.

"The point is, there is a reason to be alarmed".

Khan's office responded with the statement: The mayor had "more important things to do than respond to Donald TrumpDonald TrumpLondon mayor on Trump tweets: "I really don't care" Trump decides against Russian Federation investigation "war room": report Linda McMahon: "We're not even staffed up to where we need to be" MORE's ill-informed tweet".

British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said on Tuesday he saw no reason to cancel Donald Trump's state visit to Britain after the USA president criticised Mayor Sadiq Khan's response to the London Bridge killings.

"MSM [mainstream media] is working hard to sell it!"

Rather than insisting that Parliament prioritize the location and arrest of the roughly 3,000 radical Jihadis who represent an "imminent threat," Kahn responded by calling on the British government to cancel Donald Trump's state visit.

LONDON (AP) - The mayor of London says he doesn't care about the repeated insults he has received from the president of the United States, asserting Tuesday that he "really couldn't be bothered about what Donald Trump tweets".

May's political rival, Labour party PM candidate Jeremy Corbyn, has gone further. "They helped save lives, they reduced the death toll, some of the police officers, some of the armed response teams, who help keep our cities safe, are Muslims".

Khan said the United States and Britain were "close allies" and they should continue to work closely together. "And I think to suggest something like that is utterly ridiculous".
