YotaPhone 3 officially announced in China for 2017 release

You may remember back to 2015 when you heard about an odd device called the YotaPhone 2 featuring not one but two full-size screens, with the rear being an E-ink display. Along with this, the phone has a 5.2-inch HD E Ink touchscreen.

The concept was well-received despite poor execution in the first attempt.

Yota Devices says it will be revealing more information about the YotaPhone 3 later this summer, hopefully with details on a USA model.

YotaPhone 3 is estimated at U.S. $ 350, and this is a very reasonable price, because it includes 64 GB of internal memory and an additional full-sized screen based on electronic ink.

YotaPhone's Facebook page suggests the company is also struggling with customer support issues.

Not many manufacturers decide to createtruly unique phones anymore.

China's Baoli Technologies took a 30 percent stake in 2015, and development is now based in China rather than its former base in Finland and Russian Federation.

Whether the YotaPhone 3 will make its way to the USA is another question.

Russia's Telconet is still the largest shareholder with a 34.9 percent stake, while Russian state-owned corporation Rostec has 25.1 percent, with the remaining 10 percent held by MTH, Russian bureau TASS reports. The device will have dual displays, with an E Ink unit in the rear and an AMOLED unit in the front.

Talking about some key specifications, the report further highlights that the smartphone will come 4GB of RAM, a 12-megapixel rear camera with dual flash, 13-megapixel front-facing camera, 3200mAh battery and a USB Type-C port.
