Mbappe 'still has to prove his qualities' - Trezeguet

Jun 21, 2017, 02:00

David Trezeguet believes Kylian Mbappe needs to prove himself at Monaco, before seeking an exit.

Mbappe enjoyed a spectacular breakthrough season that saw him score 26 goals across all competitions, while he helped Monaco to win the Ligue 1 title and also broke into the France senior squad.

The report further goes on to state that he said: "Real Madrid or no one".

Last week - and not for the first time this summer - the teenager graced the cover of Spanish daily AS alongside a headline proclaiming that Real Madrid are to bid €135m for Mbappe. But, that he is happy to wait another season and continue to grow in Ligue 1.

Trezeguet certainly understands what is going through Mbappe's head.

Real Madrid has always had the best players in the world.

Perez was more coy on the prospect of Madrid making a move for Borussia Dortmund attacker Ousmane Dembele and Juventus forward Paulo Dybala, both of whom are also regarded among the brightest young players in Europe at the moment. I remember two years ago we had nearly the same example as Martial.

The Portuguese winger is thought to be furious with his treatment over recent tax scandal allegations and has told the club he wants to leave Spain.

That would be bad news for the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool who have been linked with moves to bring Mbappe to England.

Morata's agent told last week that the striker's proposed transfer to Manchester United awaits a decision from Real.

However, it looks like Arsenal are ready to step-up their interest again as The Sun are covering a report from L'Equipe today that says Wenger is set to make a fresh offer after seeing his initial £87m bid rejected.

"The PSG president is a friend of mine but he's not sent me an offer [for Ronaldo]", he continued.
