Tom Cruise injured on MI6 set

Cruise was filming the latest in the lucrative action series Mission: Impossible in an unknown part of the capital, although some on social media suggest that the film set is on the northern banks of The Thames.

In video obtained by TMZ, Cruise is attached to a harness while making the leap. He limps to the edge of the building and is pulled back by the safety team before limping off-screen.

This mission wasn't quite possible for Tom Cruise.

In the video, Cruise, 55, can be seen leaping off of a platform onto the roof of a building, but coming up just short, crashing into the side of the building instead of landing on top of it.

He is well known for doing his own stunts and even hung off an Airbus 400 airplane in one of his past Mission Impossible movies.

"Mission: Impossible 6", starring Cruise as International Monetary Fund agent Ethan Hunt, is scheduled to be released July 27, 2018.

Cruise was tethered when he performed the stunt. Ellison explained that it comes from "the best place" and is all about entertaining the audience.

It's hard to assess how impactful this accident will be to the production since we don't know the extent of his injuries. "He said that's why he does it; it's all about entertaining an audience and it makes the movie better". The film will also star Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Michelle Monaghan, Henry Cavill, Angela Bassett, and Alec Baldwin.
