Marvel's The Defenders Gets One More Trailer Before Premiere Day

With less than 24 hours before the first season of The Defenders debuts, Netflix has released one final peek at the series, and it features quite the menacing voiceover and ominous words of wisdom from Sigourney Weaver as the new villain, Alexandra Reid.

"I thought it would be a good idea if we all talked this over, like adults", Weaver says as she sits down to meet with Daredevil (Charlie Cox), his mentor Stick (Scott Glenn), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones).

They join forces to battle a threat to their home town of NY in the shape of the malign Alexandra (Sigourney Weaver), who seems to be linked to the shady multinational conglomerate known as The Hand.

Even Defenders Gotta EatFighting an ancient crime organization that trains lethal ninjas is hard work, and there's nothing like some late-night Chinese food to re-up after a battle.

Marion Cotillard earned an Oscar nomination for her raw performance in the Belgian drama "Two Days, One Night" (2014, with subtitles, PG-13).

All eight episodes of The Defenders will premiere exclusively on Netflix on August 18, 2017.

Despite all the dark plots and danger we see in the trailer, there's also hints of the humor that can grace each of the Defenders' stand-alone shows. She wants NY (and other cities) to crumble; she wants to "bring life where there is death;" and to "bring light into the dark".

When the first season of Daredevil landed on Netflix, the show didn't only establish Charlie Cox as the Man Without Fear, it began a new branch of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We get to see each individual hero throw down, see them fight in various smaller (but still awesome) combinations, and, of course, fighting as a complete unit.

Misty KnightThe badass Harlem police detective played by Simone Missick was introduced in "Luke Cage", and this time she's back to sniff out criminal wrongdoings throughout New York City. We here at Culturess are so excited to see what epic things are going to happen when four super-powered people finally get to team up! Now, however, some new photos from the set seemingly reveal how the character will return.
