Sharad Yadav Will Lose Rajya Sabha Membership For Attending Lalu's Rally: JD(U)

Tyagi claimed that the participation Sharad at the Opposition rally proves his involvement in "anti-party activities", which is suffice to terminate his Rajya Sabha membership as per the tenth schedule of the Constitution.

Designed as a show of opposition strength Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav held a massive rally in Bihar's capital Patna today.

However, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, former UP chief minister and SP president Akhilesh Yadav, JD (U) rebel Sharad Yadav and JMM leader Hemant Soren are expected to be there.

"It is a government at the Centre of the agencies, by the agencies and for the agencies...they use agencies to terrorise people whoever dares to speak against them", said Ms. Bannerjee.

Notably, Rahul Gandhi will not be able to attend the rally as the Congress leader is flying to Norway on the invitation of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The real JD (U) is with Sharad Yadav. However, when asked about JD (U) warning him of action if he participated in the rally, Sharad Yadav refused to comment.

The rally would be an important event to oust the BJP ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha poll.

"This was also a mandate against the BJP and the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi", he was quoted s saying by PTI. Therefore it will be assumed that you are voluntarily leaving the party.

Mocking the image, BJP leader from Bihar Giriraj Singh said the rally could be seen even from space. Sharad Yadav echoed the same thoughts as Lalu and said without naming Nitish Kumar that his shadow betrayed him. Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad also attended, as did Samajwadi Party's Akhilesh Yadav.

The rebel faction argues that Nitish Kumar, in deciding to dump the "Mahagathbandhan" to align with the BJP, had violated the earlier decisions of the party's national council.

Tejashwi Yadav, Lalu Yadav's elder son Tej Pratap Yadav, wife Rabri Devi, Lalu's daughter Misa Bharti, all of whom face corruption cases, were also present.
