Las Vegas shooter wired $140000 to Philippines last week

The woman believed to be the girlfriend of Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock has left the Philippines for the United States, where she is wanted for questioning.

Danley, who was overseas while her boyfriend committed the worst mass murder in USA history, is now on her way back to the U.S. to face questions from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

He is believed to have killed himself as armed police closed in and stormed the hotel room from which he committed the deadliest shooting in modern USA history.

After the attack, authorities in the United States, the Philippines and Australia joined efforts to search for Danley, hoping she might shed some light on the motive behind the deadliest mass shooting in modern USA history.

Ms Danley arrived in Manila on 15 September, more than two weeks before the mass shooting in Las Vegas, then flew to Hong Kong on 22 September and returned to Manila on 25 September.

The first call reporting shots fired came at 10:08 p.m. Sunday, and the gunfire didn't stop until 10:19 p.m., Clark County Undersheriff Kevin McMahill said.

The official, who has been briefed regularly on the probe but spoke on condition of anonymity, said the working assumption of investigators was that the money was intended as a form of life insurance payment for Danley. Investigators named Danley as a "person of interest" in the investigation. Paddock ended the rampage by killing himself. "We have discovered he was utilizing some of her identification".

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Danley was in her native Philippines on Sunday night when Paddock opened fire on a crowd of thousands who were attending the Route 91 Harvest Festival concert.

President Donald Trump travelled to Las Vegas Thursday morning (AEST) and met with shooting victims where he thanked law enforcement and emergency officers.

Paddock's motive for the worst shooting spree in modern American history remains unclear, but authorities hope Danley could have some answers.

NBC News reported that Paddock wired $100,000 to the Philippines last week, but NPR has not independently verified that report. In fact, they said the only reason she was in the Philippines was because Paddock told her he had found a cheap ticket.

"We haven't absolutely ruled out anything in this investigation", said Mr McMahill, when asked about a potential Philippines terrorism link.

At a late-night press conference Tuesday, authorities said Paddock, a high-stakes gambler and retired accountant, made his attack even more deadly by adding more lethal components to his weapons.

"We are making arrangements to contact her upon her return", he said. Police said they're investigating the source of the leaked photos.

Public records on Paddock point to an itinerant existence across the West and Southeast parts of America, including stints as an apartment manager and anaerospace industry worker.
