Australia crushes India in 2nd T20, levels series

After defeating Australia by 9 wickets in the first T20 global match in three-match T20I series, the men in blue will play on 10 October with the thought of winning the series.

The first T20 was played in Dhoni's Den, Ranchi where rain gods did make an appearance leaving the match's fate to the notorious D/L method.

India are now leading the 3-match T20I series 1-0 against Australia.

Last International ODI was played in Guwahati on November 28, 2010 between India and New Zealand and India won the match by 40 runs and Virat Kohli smashing a brilliant ton.

India, however, made no further breakthroughs and Henriques - whose knock included four fours and four sixes - and Head wrapped up a convincing success with 27 balls remaining. This is Kohli's first duck in 47 T20I innings.

Australia needed only 15.3 overs to reach 122-2 in reply, after Jason Behrendorff had taken a career-best 4-21 to bowl out the hosts for a paltry 118 runs.

The second T20 will be played at Guwahati on Saturday. Trying to break out of the dragnet, Dhawan chipped the ball over the in-field just to see the rival captain David Warner running back a few paces from the inside circle to complete a fantastic catch.

Behrendorff landed the ball on length as Kohli looked to flick it on the leg for a run.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav offered some resistance with a fifth-wicket stand of 33 before Adam Zampa had the former stumped for 13 and clean bowled the latter for 27. Hardik Pandya proved to be the missing link, India desperately wanted since the downslide of Irfan Pathan and he seems to repay their faith with solid performances with both bat and the ball. Austrlaia has such players who can run a solo win like Aron Finch, David Warner, Glean Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis.
