Two men, both 23-year-olds from Farmerville, Louisiana, were identified as Earl Andrews and Monquiarious Caldwell. The presume fled the scene, as indicated by the Lincoln Parish Sheriff's Department, which said it doesn't trust the suspect was a GSU understudy.

The school issued an alert early Wednesday and the Twitter account for the GSU Residential Life warned students to remain in their residential halls.

Williams said the shooting followed a fight that started inside a dorm room and spilled out into a courtyard around midnight Tuesday. The campus was not placed on lockdown, and classes continued as normal for Grambling's roughly 5,000 students.
