WhatsApp Messenger down leaving billions of users panicked. Check the Twitter reactions

Previously in May, Whatsapp had gone offline, putting millions of users in trouble.

WhatsApp users in India and across the world are reporting that they are experiencing problems sending texts or unable to log into the app.

Billions of users who rely on WhatsApp for their day-to-day communication are evidently outraged and are pouring their hearts out on Twitter. The sudden outage on Whatsapp created a lot of panic among users because each region couldn't deduce as to why the service is not working as intended. The shutdown was reported all over the world. The extent of the outage was not immediately known, and Facebook was not immediately reachable for a comment.

The outage may be an embarrassment for WhatsApp's parent, Facebook, which has this week announced record revenues from advertising. "This issue has been fixed and we apologize for the inconvenience", a spokesperson said. That's when I understood it was a major outage.

The hugely-popular Facebook-owned chat app went offline for thousands of users back in May 2017.
