Fake WhatsApp brief for Android Dodges Google Play review Process

The app was briefly listed as an unreleased app on Google Play, with users required to enter an early access programme for testing. To help in this situation, Google has introduced an app. That void is likely to be filled soon thanks to a brand new file management tool from Google called the Google Files Go. For those of you with 128GB phones, this may not be something you care about, but if you have a phone like the Moto X4 pictured above, this is exactly the type of app that could come in handy.

If you're an Android user, the chances are that you might be using a third-party file manager app to take care of all the files on your Android smartphone. It will tell you Documents, Videos, Images, Downloads, and Received Files. The app is free to use, with no ads or in-app purchases, though Google is probably scanning all the data you share to serve better ads elsewhere online.

In response to the leaked app getting reposted and covered by many other outlets, Caesar Sengupta, a member of the Google Team in Singapore has tweeted a link for the same app, this time back on the Play Store, at the same web address as the broken link from the original story. Thankfully, you can download this app right now as an APK even though it was pulled from Google Play Store. No complains here, nevertheless, as the app is still in beta testing phase so we hope Google can improve the stability. Just select the name from the list and share your files. There's an option to get an alert about the unused apps, using which you can delete the unused app and free storage. However, one thing which is still missing from a Stock Android build is a dedicated File Manager app.
