On Tuesday, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced that the Moodies would be among the 218 inductees.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will also be honoring Sister Rosetta Tharpe with its Award for Early Influence.

"Wenner used to run the Hall of Fame, but he's lost his clout", one insider said.

Klipsch Audio, a leading global speaker and headphone manufacturer, is a strategic partner and presenting sponsor of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, its Induction Ceremony events and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's Main Stage.

The ceremony will premiere on TV network HBO and will be broadcast via SiriusXM, with further details to be announced in due course.

Bon Jovi has remained active, but without guitarist Richie Sambora, who has not played with the band since 2013.

The Moody Blues lineup to be inducted are Graeme Edge, Justin Hayward, John Lodge, Mike Pinder and Ray Thomas. And The Cars, whose original members briefly reunited in 2010 after a long hiatus, could also regroup, minus bassist Benjamin Orr, who died in 2000. She is often referred to as the "godmother of rock and roll".

Ballots were voted on by over 1,000 artists; fans also had a say in a special additional ballot.

Jann Wenner's loss is Bon Jovi's gain.
