Horse Manure in Holiday Gift Wrap Sent to Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin

Authorities, including the Secret Service and a Los Angeles Police Department bomb squad, responded, according to the TV station. It was found by a neighbor on the U.S. Treasury Secretary's driveway at around 5.30 p.m.

No one was evacuated from the scene and the investigation is ongoing. Fearing the worst, the Secret Service also became involved in the incident.

The package also included a Christmas card with negative comments about President Donald Trump and the new USA tax law signed by Trump last week. They did not specify the contents of the card. It said the gift-wrapped package was "from the American people".

Mnuchin has served as Trump's finance chief during the presidential campaign.

His comments came after he and and his wife, Scottish actress Louise Linton, visited the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to see some of the first dollar bills marked with Mnuchin's name.
