Florida's Stricklin joins College Football Playoff committee

Mullens will be joined by several new members of the committee and they arrive as follows.

The 13-member committee, which is tasked with choosing the four best teams in the country, has to replace six people whose terms expire in February: Texas Tech athletic director Kirby Hocutt, Clemson athletic director Dan Radakovich, former USA Today reporter Steve Wieberg, former Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long, former coach Tyrone Willingham and former NCAA executive Tom Jernstedt.

Lott played at USC and enjoyed a 14-year National Football League career. Lott was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000.

Stricklin has spent the majority of his career in the SEC as the AD at UF and Mississippi State, his alma mater. Hocutt was replaced by OR athletic director Rob Mullens as chairman.

A new selection committee chair will also be named, as Hocutt is rotating off the committee. He previously served as the AD at Missouri for five years.

Castiglione, who has served three terms as chair of the Big 12 Board of Athletic Directors, has developed into an OU icon since taking over his current position in 1998, overseeing the football program's resurgence after hiring Bob Stoops, then ushering in Lincoln Riley's era last offseason.

Hatfield, who was most recently the head coach at Rice (1994-2005), was also the head coach at Air Force (1979-83), Arkansas (1984-89) and Clemson (1990-93).

Boivin, an IL alumn, spent more than 20 years at The Arizona Republic before she took a job in the sports journalism program at Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

At the top, Texas Tech AD Kirby Hocutt will be moving away as the chairperson and he will be replaced by OR athletic director Rob Mullens.
