Roma chief, Monchi opens door for Chelsea to sign Dzeko, Palmieri

Should Dzeko or Emerson fail to agree a move to Chelsea, this will reportedly re-open the possibility that other Roma players could be sold.

And according to Sky Sports, after being linked to the likes of Andy Carroll and Peter Crouch, Chelsea are now interested in a January move for Burnley striker Ashley Barnes.

Roma's director of football Monchi hinted Dzeko had played his last game for the club prior to their match against Inter Milan yesterday. The deal for both players would reportedly be worth an initial £44 million, with a further £8 million possibly arriving in add-ons.

The 31-year-old Bosnia-Herzegovina worldwide has scored 61 times in 117 appearances for Roma since joining on an initial loan from City in 2015.

A deal to bring Dzeko back to the Premier League, however, two years after he brought an end to his spell at Manchester City, is proving to be a little more hard.

Dzeko has scored 61 goals in 117 appearances for Roma and it's thought he's wary of becoming a fringe player at Stamford Bridge.

The deal to sign Edin Dzeko is a bit more complicated though as it would take some convincing from the board to guarantee the playing time which would satisfy the Bosnian.

Meanwhile Palmeiri, who is rated at €20 million, is keen to work under Antonio Conte.

Still, Palace will not let the Belgian go unless the Blues sign the player on a permanent basis, not as a loanee.

Bayern have agreed a deal to sign Leon Goretzka from Schalke once the season ends, and that acquisition could trigger a transfer for Vidal, with Antonio Conte's side leading the pack.
