Trump reiterates support for arming teachers, protecting 2nd Amendment

President Donald Trump spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Friday, and the raucous speech elicited varied and specific reactions from both sides of the political aisle.

President Trump assured his supporters that they will get the wall.

Despite his promises to take action on guns in the wake of the Florida shooting, Mr Trump said that making schools gun-free zones would put students in "far more danger".

An armed teacher, Trump claimed, would have "shot the hell" out of the Florida killer. "They will take away your Second Amendment, which we will never allow to happen", the president said to major applause.

President Trump also used the speech to renew his call for congress to pass a bill, funding a wall along the U.S. & Mexico border.

In order to rile up the conservative crowd, Trump reached back into his 2016 campaign pocket numerous times to ignite a spark of "enthusiasm" among Republicans to stave off a wave of Democrats being elected later this year.

Trump didn't mention McCain by name, but it was clear his criticism - along with boos from the crowd - was directed toward the 2008 GOP presidential nominee, who has been diagnosed with brain cancer.

"We've passed massive, the biggest in history, tax cuts and reforms".

The president also took credit for ending "the war on American energy". "We're gonna say you want the Second Amendment the most". Oh, I try like hell to hide that bald spot, folks.

"He was very obnoxious", Trump said as he complained about how media coverage. He smiled when the audience chanted, "Lock her up", in response to a comment about Hillary Clinton.

"By the way, you don't mind if I go off script a little bit, because, you know it's sort of boring", Trump said to an explosion of cheers and hollers from the crowd.

Appearing at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Oxon Hill, Md., the president poked fun at his own mop, a tangle of twists and turns that coalesce in what, in the end, becomes an apparent full head of hair. "For me personally, as a college student, it's really important for me to want to continue to educate myself and other people, so he really hit on the importance of doing that". "You know what happens, I'm trying to figure it out, because historically if you win the presidency, you don't do well two years later". "The United States of America doesn't stand with murderous dictatorships, we stand up to murderous dictatorships".

"Much of the right has abandoned the principled conservatism of Ronald Reagan and William Buckley for the opportunism of Donald Trump", said Pitney.

He said that "gun adept members of staff within the school" could make up between 20-30% of the faculty, but offered no concrete evidence that could prove this.
