RTBF are reporting that the 25-year-old and his father recently held a meeting with representatives of the French club in a London hotel.

But Courtois has always spoken about returning to Spain, and a move to Real Madrid would appeal to him immensely.

The Belgium global is a protracted target for Real Madrid and it now seems the two European superclubs are set to battle it out for the player's signature this summer.

But Courtois' agent Christophe Henrotay quickly put paid to talk of such a meeting taking place.

Speaking on a move he says, "If a club is interested they will have to come to an agreement with Chelsea and speak with me about their interest in my client". Terreur claims that while the mega-rich club's interest is minor at present, they could well look to bring in the 6ft 5' stopper if they can make sure that Financial Fair Play rules would permit the deal. "RTBF is a small TV channel in Belgium and sometimes they like a little thrill to keep them alive", he sniffed. Free to leave at the end of next season, Chelsea must weigh-up whether to cash-in on Courtois this summer if he refuses to sign a new contract to risk losing him for nothing at the end of the next campaign.
