Israeli Occupation Forces Shoot Dead Palestinian in West Bank

Palestinian medical sources said the young man, identified as Mohammad Zein al-Ja'bari, aged 24, was shot by the soldiers with a live round in his chest, in the Bab az-Zawiya area, in the center of Hebron city.

Israeli media said the army viewed the event as a potential security threat, while authorities were concerned over how to respond if violence erupted with women and children among the protesters.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there were 6,119 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli custody as of February.

Tensions have risen since US President Donald Trump's recognition in December of Jerusalem as Israel's capital - a decision that has infuriated the Palestinians.

Dozens of Palestinians protested throughout the West Bank on Friday including in the cities of Hebron, Nablus, Ramllah and in Kfar Kadum.
