The North Carolina basketball team has played and beaten some big teams this season. If the chalk holds, and Texas A&M is proof that isn't always the case, the Aggies could be the only school with multiple teams in the Sweet 16.

Williams had played only spot duty that season and missed last year's title run due to an injury.

Williams capped the Providence win Friday with a windmill slam that had been mimicked on the sideline perfectly by Aggies teammate Savion Flagg.

"It probably wasn't his top choice in who we wanted to play when the pairings came out", said Creighton coach Greg McDermott, vaguely referring to previous disciplinary issues. It was fourth largest comeback in the history of the women's tournament. "You can see it all over when you look around".

Defending national champion North Carolina is done in the NCAA Tournament. They're 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS in their last six as a neutral site favorite of 3.5 to six points. Williams led all starters in scoring, with all five posting double-figure scoring outings. "He likes having success, but he has had a really good year for us all year". Like Williams, he was strong at the ACC Tournament as he averaged 13.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 2.3 steals in the three games in Brooklyn. "People want to just call him one thing and that's a shooter".

Bench scoring was controlled by Lipscomb with 19 points off the bench compared to North Carolina's 15 points.

The lack of tournament experience for Williams, Manley and Brooks didn't keep them from doing big things in the game. They rank third in KenPom's offensive rebounding percentage - a measure of possible offensive rebounds collected - at 38.2 percent.

The Bison shot 25 percent from behind the arc as team.

Lipscomb had their best run in the 1st Half with 6:18 on the clock.

Behind its defense, UNC came back to take the lead for good with less than four minutes to go in the half.

The Aggies shot 52 percent from the field, while the Tar Heels shot only 33 percent.

In the second half, Williams knocked down another two 3-pointers, two jump shots and two free throws to lead all scorers with 18 points.

The Aggies also got 20 points out of TJ Starks and 14 from DJ Hogg. Marberry scored 13 points and pulled down seven boards, tied with Eli Pepper for the lead. Berry added 14 points to his career total against Lipscomb, helping him secure that feat. Following the 2009 championship, North Carolina tied for ninth in the league and was relegated to the 2010 National Invitation Tournament, where it reached the final before falling to Dayton. Instead, they couldn't buy a 3-point shot, struggled to rebound against a bigger team and offered little more than a meager resistance as the Aggies played with aggressive confidence. A&M got noticeably more aggressive and confident and North Carolina forgot how to shoot.
