Google is developing a budget smartphone Pixel

The Google Home and its smaller variant Home Mini are probably going to launch in India this month - April. For those who are unaware, the Google Home speakers are powered by the company's Google Assistant and allow users to perform various tasks with the help of just voice commands. India is the second largest smartphone market after China, and Google now doesn't sell its Pixel phones in the country.

Google is said to be looking to undertake a big advertising campaign for the launch of their Google Home speakers and other products this month, which is expected on April 10th. In 2016, the Google Home was the first Assistant smart speaker announced at I/O and debuted later that fall.

The Home Mini, on the other hand, was launched in October 2017 alongside the Home Max. Google's already laid the software groundwork for "lite" Android devices with Oreo Go edition of its mobile operating system, and now it could sell the hardware to pair with it.

With a Pixel phone along with some of its exclusive features (if not all), Google might be able to attract a wider customer base in countries like India. In the U.S., the Google Home costs 130 Dollars which is equivalent to Rs. 8,400 and the Google Home Mini costs around 50 USD which is around Rs. 3,400.

As far as Amazon's launch is considered, it is sure to give tough competition and a run for its money to Google. Google Home Mini is available in three colour options of chalk, charcoal and coral. Up to this point, the Pixel family has served as Google's flagship smartphones (taking the place of Nexus branding), helping to usher in each yearly release of a new version of Android. The company has also set aside huge funds for brand promotions of the upcoming phone, The Economic Times reported citing an unnamed executive. Considering the recent trend of smartphones eliminating the bezel as much as possible, it's likely that something like this will make the jump from Google Pixel 3 concept images into the final release.
