USA will 'regret' pulling out of nuke deal: Iran leader

President Hassan Rouhani met with the Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Volodin, on Monday in Tehran and referred to his 12 meetings with the his counterpart Vladimir Putin in recent years, saying: "Anytime we met, we have moved one step forward in deepening ties and cooperation".

We need them to ensure our security in this insecure world.

Government spokesman Mohammad Bagher Nobakht said Iran brings in some $95 billion a year in foreign currency, mostly from crude oil exports, which resumed after the 2015 nuclear deal.

According to Press TV, Rouhani also said Iran will launch new facilities in the Fordow enrichment establishments in central Iran. But it is still allowed to develop nuclear technology for civilian purposes, including energy production and scientific research.

Earlier in the day, Iran's FARS news agency reported that at least four Iranian nationals had been killed in an Israeli airstrike on Syria's N-4 airbase in the country's Homs province. He threatened if the text of the nuclear deal is not revised he would unilaterally withdraw the USA from it. Fordow is a facility south of the holy city of Qom. We need soft power.

The 20 percent figure is significant, because it is more than enough to quickly reach the threshold for a nuclear weapon.

Reuters notes that "Iran has warned that it would ramp up its nuclear program if the JCPOA collapses, to achieve a more advanced level than before the deal".

Republican Senator Bob Corker said "significant progress" had been made on bipartisan congressional legislation to "address the flaws in the agreement without violating USA commitments".

"Our ability for reversal in other areas will be far greater than before", he said.

"I hope at least that the USA military and those of the countries participating in the coalition led by the United States understand that", Lavrov told a press conference.

Since his election in late 2016, however, Trump has repeatedly threatened to withdraw from the deal over the objections of European Union member states.

In January, Trump announced he is waiving the United States sanctions against Iran for the "last time". He also stressed Iran is ready to quickly revert to the situation before the deal, should the United States abandon it.
