Jose Mourinho to drop Man Utd players for FA Cup semi-final

"I have won titles, I would not be happy if someone say won title if someone lose a match", Mourinho said.

The France midfielder has been in and out of United in recent months, showing Mourinho is not scared of dropping his big names.

Mourinho added: "What is the criteria for a manager to choose a team?" The starting line-up included Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, Juan Mata, Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera.

"Some of the guys that played (against West Brom), they don't have a place in that team".

United manager Mourinho said: "I knew that sooner or later that (they) would be (champions) and if I was in their position I would be very upset if somebody said that they won the title because Manchester United lost against West Bromwich Albion".

"You see the difference of (the) attitude of some players today compared with other weeks; relax, too stylish, one more touch, one more turn, one more flick. The only way to go is with the performance".

Paul Pogba had a dream derby in the win over City, scoring twice in the second half to set up the thrilling comeback at the Etihad Stadium. Pogba was hooked before the hour, although he had not had a bad game and Mourinho explained it was due to being on a yellow card, suggesting he is keen the Frenchman is available for the weekend.

Juventus would happily provide a home for both, but whilst they've got a very good chance of signing Darmian, with that looking like a transfer which could soon happen, Martial is going to be much more hard.

"You can do it if your team is not losing the ball, but our team was losing the ball so easy, with the complication".

Paul Pogba struggled to reproduce his match-winning performance against Manchester City and was taken off in the 58th minute against West Brom, but Mourinho insists the decision was a outcome of the France global receiving a yellow card.

Mourinho's disappointment will have no doubt been compounded by the fact some of those under-performing have been key players for him. It has to do with personality, with the way you live for football, what your priority is in your life, what your ambition is. It has not to do with age.

"I have met players of 30 years old who were not consistent at all and I found boys of 18, 19, 20 who were real men, real pros".
