To be fair iOS 11 was notoriously buggy and most users could not tell if it was just rubbish programming from Apple or there was some evil intent behind it. Apple has said it has devoted so much effort to bug-fixing that this year's iOS 12 update will reportedly have fewer new features.

Thus on the performance font, the devices after receiving the updates are sure to have a boost in their performance which would enhance the experience of using the devices as the bugs have been done away with. As Apple explains in its release notes for the software, the update "addresses an issue where touch input was responsive on some iPhone 8 devices because they were serviced with non-genuine replacement displays".

Apple's release notes warns users against taking their phones into third-party fix shops that use "non-genuine replacement displays." . The company warned that non-genuine spare parts for displays could have functionality issues of their own and lower visual quality.

The issue lasted approximately two weeks, in which iOS 11.3 introduced a problem with the interactivity of touchscreens for those running third-party displays. After the update, some iPhone 8 devices lost their touch-screen functionality after being repaired by non-certified experts.
