At one point, Markle appeared confused over who should enter the royal auto first, but resorted to asking the Queen what her preference would be.

The Meghan Markle sparkle was on display again, this time as the Duchess of Sussex stepped out in her first solo outing with the queen.

Their first stop was the opening of the Mersey Gateway Bridge, including watching a performance by school children.

Meghan's earrings were in fact a gift from the Queen.

The Queen has her own train she uses to get around the United Kingdom for special engagements.

The duo concluded their visit with lunch at Chester Town Hall.

His visit to Fiji also underlines his special interest in the Commonwealth and our own historical ties with Great Britain and the Royal Family.

The newlywed duchess, who married the Duke of Sussex in a star-studded ceremony in Windsor last month, was nervous, repeatedly touching her hair.
