Mark Wahlberg after Baker Mayfield’s first game: ‘Cleveland got another star’

On Aug. 10, 2017, Cleveland's DeShone Kizer, a second-round pick out of Notre Dame, completed 11 of 18 passes for 184 yards and a touchdown as the Browns beat New Orleans 20-14. Not only are these two teams trying to forget what happened a season ago and turn things around, but the talent on the field is hugely fascinating.

No. 2 overall pick Saquon Barkley made a splash in his National Football League debut Thursday night. Rookie sensation Baker Mayfield wrapped up his first performance early in the fourth quarter of the Brown's game against the New York Giants. Meanwhile, Cleveland could also give a bit of burn to cornerback Denzel Ward, who they took with the No. 4 overall pick.

The preseason can never be taken too seriously, but by all accounts, Mayfield had an exceptional debut on Thursday night against the New York Giants.

There are plenty of other big names to watch, including the likes of (potentially) Odell Beckham Jr. and Myles Garrett.

After the game, Giants head coach Pat Shurmur made it clear that Beckham playing on Thursday night was never a realistic option. Then, he picked up a third-and-six and a fourth-and-two, both with his legs.

His first series ended with a three-and-out, but he quickly led the Browns on an impressive touchdown drive the next time he got the ball.
