Modric, Ronaldo and Salah final UEFA Player of the Year nominees

Ronaldo and Modric won the Champions League for Real Madrid against Salah's Liverpool in the final, while Hegerberg and Henry scored against Harder's Wolfsburg in Lyon's triumph in the Women's Champions League.

The 33-year-old averaged a goal a game last season, scoring 44 goals in as many appearances.

Cristiano Ronaldo had a preponderant role for the Merengues in the European competition and led Portugal to the round of 16 in the World Cup. Modric and Ronaldo sharing a team could make it hard to evaluate their La Liga play, while Salah's World Cup struggles may be outweighed by his dominant appearance in the Premier League.
