Plant City man wins $3 million in Mega Million drawing

The 87-year-old fell and broke his hip Tuesday while heading out to buy a lottery ticket in southern New Jersey.

A $1 million lottery ticket purchased in Lindenwold, New Jersey is going to a group of hospital employees in South Jersey - and one patient.

They ended up taking pity on him and invited him to join their own lottery pool with 141 others.

Those planning to spend $2 on a Powerball ticket can hope for a giant payday but should realize they have nearly no chance of winning the top prize. She won $1 million.

Ms Mickle told NBC 10 she didn't believe her uncle when he told her he'd won from his hospital bed.

"And then the staff came into the room and they were saying congratulations and I was like, "Wow, he really did win". "So they said, 'Why don't you go in with us?"
