Residents have one more chance to vote, on Tuesday, Nov. 6, Election Day.

The 30.6 million ballots includes data from 48 states, with several of those still collecting absentee ballots and welcoming in-person early voters. The new statewide vote-by-mail law passed in August allows mail-in ballots to be received and counted by the elections board up to 48 hours after polls close on election night, provided that these ballots are postmarked on Election Day, November 6. "Everybody has been contacted and notified that there is a midterm election".

The voter turnout for November 2016 was 72 percent, while the turnout in November 2014 was 48 percent. To see more, visit KCUR 89.3.

New Mexico voters are picking a new governor, one US senator and deciding on two open congressional seats, as they fill a long list of statewide public offices including attorney general and secretary of state. They also worry about low turnout among Hispanics, who represent 60 percent of Dodge City's population.

The Illinois State Board of Elections says almost 840,000 early votes had been cast statewide as of late Wednesday. There are crossover voters, even in this hyperpartisan era.

Voters with no party affiliation had turned out at a rate of 23.6 percent, or 9,970 of 42,110 registered voters.

The state's top race is to replace term-limited GOP Gov. Mary Fallin.

The high volume surprised the Election Commission and caused parking problems at the Princeton Arts Center, one of the county's three early voting locations.

With a week to go before Election Day more than 3 million voters have already cast ballots in the battleground state of Florida.

"There are newly energized voters who sat out in 2016, or have registered since then, who are turning out".

Early votes can be cast through Monday.

The secretary of state's office predicts turnout will reach 30 to 35 percent on Election Day.

Requests must be made by this deadline in order for the requested absentee ballot to be mailed by the appropriate county clerk in time for the voter to receive, complete and return it by Tuesday's deadline.

You do not have to bring your voter registration certificate with you to the polls, but a photo ID is now required to vote in-person in Texas.

The spike in turnout appears to be driven in part by Hispanics, according to an analysis, de Leon said. Among the other findings: new female voters outnumber men by more than 70,000.
