Samsung foldable smartphone named, priced and unveil dated

Samsung Galaxy S10 range will likely be powered by the next-generation Exynos 9820, which was unveiled by the company during a press conference earlier today.

We are still months away from seeing the next flagship smartphone from Samsung but as always, the official launch would always be trailed by leaks beforehand.

The Exynos 9820 should provide a big boost to gaming too, as Samsung claims its Mali-G76 MP12 GPU offers a 40% improvement in gaming performance or 35% more power efficiency. While initially it was unclear if the Galaxy S8 series and Note 8 series would get the UI, Samsung later confirmed the same in a statement to Android Authority. DJ Koh, the Chief Executive Officer of Samsung's mobile division, also promised "significant" changes with the Galaxy S10 family this September.

The new chipset also comes with AI-enabled features, as Samsung follows Huawei by putting artificial intelligence at the heart of our smartphones.

Samsung has not revealed if the new color variant will be released outside China.

The tweet further suggests that the Galaxy S10 Lite is expected to come in three RAM/ROM variants- 4GB RAM/64GB ROM, 6GB RAM/64GB ROM, and 6GB RAM/128GB ROM.

World's first foldable phone?

Samsung says the new NPU will allow the Exynos 9820 to run AI tasks seven times faster than the Exynos 9810. It is possible that this SoC will also power the upcoming foldable smartphone from the company.

"As AI-related services expand and their utilization diversify in mobile devices, their processors require higher computational capabilities and efficiency", said Ben Hur, vice president of System LSI marketing at Samsung Electronics.
