Pacquiao set for next step in pursuit of Mayweather rematch

Despite Pacquiao's age and Broner's inconsistency, their fight is expected to do well financially due to the personal brands of both and the competitive nature of the matchmaking which pairs a faded legend against an underachieving star.

19 November it became officially known about the fight between American Edrena Bronero and the world champion under version WBA Regular Filipino Manny Pacquiao.

Despite the fact that the promotion company "PBC", which recently has signed the contract the representative of the Philippines, began to actively cooperate with the TV channel "FOX" and nearly all of his fights to hold on their platform, face-to-face meeting, Pacquiao and Broner will be shown through the system of PPV Pay-Per-View for "Showtime".

That drew angry remarks from Broner who took offense to being used as a stepping stone to another multi-million fight by the two.

"I don't think they don't wanna watch the fight", Pacquiao said Monday. I said that, because in that situation he (was) trying to bully me or whatever.

"I have no problem to fight at 140 (pounds), it's my natural weight. It is 147 for this fight". He hasn't fought in the United States in two years.

Last September, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. broke headlines again when they met in Japan.

Pacquiao, a senator in the Philippines, has not boxed in the USA since winning a decision over Jessie Vargas to win a welterweight belt in November 2016.

His government role will be placed aside, Pacquiao claims, while he prepares for Broner.

Speaking at Oxford University, he said: "My thinking is to have a rematch and to make a clear decision on who will win the fight because in the last fight that we had it wasn't clear who won the fight because he didn't throw a lot of punches and he won the fight".

Unable to control his laughter when listening to Broners antics on stage, Pacquiao turned away from the American during their first face-off and when Broner made his remarks on stage. "He don't need no NyQuil for that", said Broner, 29. Pacquiao picked Broner to fight.

"I have to go through this fight first before we talk about and discuss the rematch with Floyd Mayweather", Pacquiao said. The things he's done in the game are unbelievable.

"They keep on talking about rematches, he got to get past me first, big feet motherf--er. I'm gonna (mess) him up".

Although he ultimately showed Pacquaio respect during Monday's press conference, Broner (33-3-1, 24 KOs) was his typical colorful self off the start with a series of flashy (if not lewd) comments.
