But, who exactly is Captain Marvel?

Marvel Studios unveiled the second trailer for the upcoming superhero film, Captain Marvel, during Monday Night Football. Danvers is then heard asking, "What aren't you telling me?" over a shot of Jude Law's charcter, who doesn't seem too helpful. Annette Benning as a benevolent power gifter! The story saw Carol move back into space, form a team of her own, and face the precarious state of interstellar politics.

"I'm not going to fight your war, I'm going to end it". Check out the second trailer here below. If you're a Marvel Comics reader, you're probably aware of the issues between the Krees and the Skrulls. Plus, it amps up excitement even more! There's also a glimpse of Carol's cat, Goose. Why doesn't she remember anything?

Though Avengers 4 is now scheduled to arrive in Europe one week earlier than North America, it's easy to see from a marketing perspective why the studio would want the domestic and global schedules to be in sync, especially when you consider how spoiler-conscious Marvel is being these days. For at least a decade, people knew today's Captain Marvel from AVENGERS ANNUAL #10.

That was the plot of the 2008 Marvel Comics crossover event Secret Invasion, in which heroes like Carol's good friend Spider-Woman turned out to be Skrull agents embedded sometime before the full Skrull plan was set into motion. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom. Marvel has had a lot of fun out among the stars with the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, but this looks like Captain Marvel is less concerned with tunes and more interested in kicking as much Skrull ass as half-humanly possible.

Captain Marvel, a prequel of sorts to Iron Man, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Incredible Hulk, and Thor, hits theatres in early March.
