There have been reports of a stabbing close to the youth centre where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visited just hours earlier today.

During a chat with some of the large crowd that turned out for their visit to Birkenhead in northern England on Monday, Meghan, 37, revealed she was six months pregnant, suggesting the latest addition to the British royal family would be due sometime in April.

Speculation Harry and Meghan will welcome a girl increased after United Kingdom bookmakers Paddy Power suspended betting on the gender of the baby due to an overwhelming number of bets being placed.

The Duchess showed off her growing baby bump in a red Sentaler coat and a purple midi dress by Aritzia's Babaton collection, with red Stuart Weitzman heels for a day of engagements in the North West city. The royal pair were in Birkenhead to view a public sculpture and visit a number of charitable projects, and they spent about 45 minutes on their walkabout, visiting with fans.
