Ariana Grande not Performing at or Attending the Grammys after Disagreement

Ariana Grande will not perform at, or even attend, this year's Grammy Awards ceremony. For whatever reason, producers were against the idea, and only agreed to let Grande sing "7 rings" if it was part of a medley and they got to pick the second song.

Ariana is up for two gongs at the awards this Sunday - Best Pop Solo Performance for God is a Woman and Best Pop Vocal Album for Sweetener. However, it's important to note that Ariana was only rumored to perform at the Grammys, speculation of which the singer tweeted was "false" on January 30.

Variety alleges that "such stipulations were not imposed on other performers at the show". One new report claims that Ariana Grande and the team behind the awards show had a disagreement over her song choices.

The singer is said to have felt "insulted" after those organizing the show refused to permit her to perform "7 Rings," the latest single on her upcoming album, Thank U, Next, which is slated for release on Friday. While it's not been confirmed, it's thought that the singer may instead attend the BAFTA Awards in London, which are also taking place on Sunday night, to support her boyfriend, The Favourite star Joe Alwyn.

"Sweetener" and the songs "Thank U, Next" and "7 Rings" all smashed Spotify records, with "7 Rings" breaking the streaming service's record for most plays within a 24-hour period with almost 15 million.

The Thank U, Next song reached 100 million plays in just 11 days, setting yet another record for the Spotify streaming service.
