James' SpringHill Entertainment production company announced Space Jam 2's release date and even added a poster of the Los Angeles Lakers star next to Bugs and Lola Bunny.

As previously reported, the follow-up to the beloved 1996 film will feature National Basketball Association superstar and Trainwreck scene-stealer LeBron James.

On the other hand, the yet-untitled Annabelle sequel was pulled up by a week from 4 July to 28 June. And in two years, LeBron James will find himself in a similar situation next to Bugs.

It's officially official: Space Jam 2 is happening.

The idea of a Space Jam sequel is something that's been in talks for a very long time, and we're extremely excited now that it's finally becoming a reality. "This will be James" first starring role in a film. The first film really hinged on the audience's awareness of Michael Jordan's career, as it revolved around the Looney Tunes characters luring Jordan away from his ill-fated baseball career and back to basketball. In 2015, he made an appearance in "Trainwreck" alongside Amy Schumer and Bill Hader. I'd just love for kids to understand how empowered they can feel and how empowered they can be if they don't just give up on their dreams.
