Chelsea boss Sarri wary of Fulham after Ranieri sacking

Manager Maurizio Sarri has utilised Jorginho as the heartbeat of the Chelsea midfield since the pair arrived from Napoli last summer, and has kept faith with the Italy worldwide even as a disappointing start to 2019 has seen both men become targets for supporter criticism.

Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri could restore Kepa Arrizabalaga to his starting line-up at Fulham on Sunday. Willy Caballero didn't put a foot wrong against Spurs but Sarri has confirmed Kepa will be recalled to start one of the next two games.

"One of our goalkeepers was very much a strong penalty-saver, Ciaran Kelly, and he basically won us the first one - saving four out of four in the shoot-out against Shamrock Rovers".

Jorginho, who was the embodiment of "Sarri-ball" at Napoli, has upset some fans by inadvertently pushing N'Golo Kante out of position in Chelsea's midfield.

The Blues were beaten on penalties at Wembley, but it was the actions of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga which had the more damaging implications for Sarri and the club. Of course it was a very bad experience, but I think we can come out of the situation better than before.

Sarri has no injuries to consider, but expects to rotate his options after a challenging week.

Sarri replied: "I think the contribution was really very good in the last match - he was able to play with team-mates very well".

"On Sunday we played 120 minutes and 95 on Wednesday".

"We all know what Claudio is like as a man - a true classy man in every sense and he came in this morning and addressed the players", continued Parker. "So we need to value the recovery because we ran for 15km on Sunday on average, and the average in the last match was 12km", Sarri added. We still need consistency and still to continue, especially with the performances.

Chelsea's club captain is Gary Cahill, but the defender has not played since November and is out of contract at the end of the season. To think he spent the time to write a long detailed message giving me advice on how he sees things was truly inspirational. So, for him, it's very important to finish the match in that way. Every match is very hard and mentally very expensive.
