Today at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago, Respawn Entertainment, makers of Apex Legends and Titanfall, showed off their next game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. While Episode IX, aka The Rise of Skywalker, has largely dominated the conversation, video games have always been a very important source of storytelling in a galaxy far, far away.

From a thrilling new Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker teaser trailer, to a bunch of fresh details releasing about the upcoming final chapter, Star Wars fever has once again well and truly struck back. At Star Wars Celebration, EA dropped the first trailer for the game.

Respawn Entertainment, a studio of Electronic Arts, is collaborating with Lucasfilm on the game, which will be released on November 19 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Fallen Order follows the story of Padawan Cal Kestis who's on the run as he's hunted by the Empire. Until then, though, Star Wars can go ahead and download this mod for Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy. Star Wars Celebration is now invading Chicago and Lucasfilm is showing off an terrible lot to fans. Instead, it was all the Respawn development team, as well as those from Lucasfilm who contributed to the story.

We get to see the new hero Cal Kestis during the performance capture sessions, played by Shameless star Cameron Monaghan.

As reported earlier this evening, the game will be launching this November and will feature an entirely single-player campaign mode. Joining the cast are Naomi Ackie (Doctor Who), Richard E. Grant (Logan), Dominic Monaghan (Lord of the Rings), Matt Smith (Doctor Who) and Keri Russell (The Americans), who will also be joined by veteran Star Wars actors Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels and Billy Dee Williams, who will reprise his role as Lando Calrissian.

Respawn CEO Vince Zampella said that the game is going to be single-player and story-driven without the infamous system of microtransactions and loot boxes. The trailer also introduces BD-1, Cal's droid.

The "Jedi fantasy story game" is, as Game Director, Stig Asmussen describes, is an "action melee" game.
