Bond 25: Full central cast, setting announced

We got our first details on Thursday about the next Bond adventure via livestream from GoldenEye, the Jamaican villa where author Ian Fleming created the character.

Fukunaga said they already filmed in Norway "due to weather", and there are plans to continue production at locations in London (including Pinewood Studios) and the "hilltop town" of Matera, Italy.

Other newcomers to the longrunning spy franchise include Lashana Lynch, David Dencik, Ana De Armas, Billy Magnussen and Dali Benssalah.

During a live event in Jamaica, producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli revealed a host of details about the upcoming film, including the full cast.

Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica.

Following months of rumours, the stars of "Bond 25" have finally been unveiled.

In the film, Bond will go on a mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist, which puts him on trail of a mysterious villain armed with alarming new technology.

This will be Craig's fifth time in the role of Agent 007 following Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, and Spectre - and presumably his last. The film's producers and star Daniel Craig did hint at certain plot details even if numerous castings they confirmed had been widely reported. She also said that Jamaica is "Bond's spiritual home". And as we learned in 2018, True Detective's Cary Joji Fukunaga will be helming the picture, having replaced Danny Boyle after some backstage shake-ups.

Also confirmed was the fact that Fleabag and Killing Eve's Phoebe Waller-Bridge has worked on the script, alongside Scott Z. Burns and regular Bond screenwriters Neal Purvis and Robert Wade. The movie is expected to be released on April 8, 2020, according to IMBD.

Back in February, Malek addressed rumors that he was to play the villain in the highly anticipated spy sequel, though his role in the movie has yet to be confirmed.

Bond 25 still doesn't have an official title, meaning there's still hope that it will be a stealth Paddington movie.
