Manchester United’s Bailly to miss 2019 AFCON due to knee injury

Bailly looked in serious pain as he clutched his knee after an awkward and crunching collision with Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Eric Bailly is set to miss Manchester United's remaining Premier League games this season.

Manchester United were able to break their losing streak on Sunday, albeit in unremarkable fashion, with a 1-1 draw to Chelsea that more or less ended their hopes at Champions League football for next season.

Scans on Monday revealed that Bailly had suffered damage to the medial ligament in his right knee and he will now undergo a period of rehabilitation.

Manchester United defender Eric Bailly will miss the club's final two Premier League games and the African Nations Cup, the club have confirmed. "He will be out for the rest of the season".

Bailly has been largely inconsistent in terms of his performances this season. "But he is a warrior, he played well today, he was calm, he was composed and it was just unfortunate that he had to come off".
