Joe Biden says he 'wasn't prepared' for Kamala Harris' debate attack

"That's what this election is about".

'The idea that I'd be intimidated by Donald Trump, ' Biden said with a look that suggested that notion would be foolish. "The problem is that China is stealing our trade secrets, and cybersecurity", Biden said.

Biden's son Beau, who died of brain cancer in 2015, served as Delaware's attorney general at the same time that Harris was serving as California's attorney general.

He pointed out that Ocasio-Cortez "won a primary" - an apparent reference to her upset win past year against a longtime Democratic incumbent in a very liberal district.

Biden's clearest policy difference with the left - health care - was evident during the interview, too. The former vice president said he will hold off going after his opponents' previous positions because he doesn't want the debate between Democrats to be backward looking.

"I will say Vice President Biden seems to stand by his opposition to bussing from back in 1969", Adams told host Alisyn Camerota.

In case you missed it, Harris said on the debate stage, "I do not believe you are a racist".

Biden suggested he supports allowing Americans to buy in to Medicare instead of going all the way to Medicare for All, which he slammed as disruptive and costly despite studies showing it would save the US trillions of dollars in overall healthcare spending.

Out on the stump, Biden and Sen.

Before taking on Trump, however, Biden will need to get through the crowded field of Democrats who are also vying for a chance to challenge the Republican President. How long is that going to take?

On a two-day holiday visit to Iowa, the state that kicks off the White House nominating fight in seven months, Biden was greeted by new polls showing his lead narrowing in the state and nationally after a wobbly performance in last week's first debate. "So if you look at what he's done, and if you look at what we've straightened out-I call it the Obama-Biden mess". We have to take it seriously. "This is the agenda America needs - and that will energize voters to defeat Donald Trump", he wrote.

"I'd rather run against, I think, Biden than anybody".

Speaking with Chris Cuomo on CNN, the former vice president threw shade at Ocasio-Cortez - arguing that her support of Medicare for all and other progressive stances can not win closely-contested elections in battleground states. What I do know, and it's the good news and the bad news: "the American people think they know me, and they know me".

Several Democrats who came to a picnic in West Des Moines to listen to Harris said they were excited at the possibility she could wound Trump the way she did Biden.
